Custody disputes are stressful, emotional and expensive. They are emotionally demanding on both parties and on the children. It is my goal to handle custody disputes through mediation or some other means of alternate dispute resolution to minimize the impact on the family. However, there are situations where these issues need be decided in court, and in those cases, I fight aggressively for my client and his or her children's best interests.
Involved in a custody dispute? Contact an experienced Downers Grove child custody attorney. Call me, William C. North, at 630-413-4451, or send me an e-mail.
In almost all custody cases, the judge will appoint a custody evaluator to meet with the parties and evaluate their parenting and relationship with the children. The custody evaluator will then make a recommendation to the judge on what is in the children's best interests. I will guide you through the custody evaluator process, making sure you are informed of what is happening and how it will impact your case.
Naperville Area Visitation Attorney
The non-custodial parent will need a visitation schedule. The more detailed the schedule, the less likely it is that you will have to come back to court to litigate parenting issues after the divorce. Visitation schedules will often include weekly time, holidays and vacation time. Visitation agreements can be extremely flexible and need to be individualized to meet the needs of your family. I help my clients find creative solutions to visitation problems.
